A new riser system was utilized for the first time at the 2020 Mooney Classic. The modular system provides a much-needed upgrade for numerous activities including wrestling, choirs and the band program. The risers were combined with a new scorers table as part of continued facilities enhancements throughout the District.
New riser system assembled for the first time before the 2020 Mooney Classic:
The new StageRight Riser System was purchased for $16,000 and marks the first time in decades new risers have been purchased for events at Williamston High School. The system includes stairs, barriers, reversible platforms, and a cart for moving the system throughout the building.
The Williamston Wrestling team competed with teams from across Michigan at the annual Mooney Classic and finished in fifth place out of 18 schools. WHS students Ryker and Luke finished in first place in their respective weight classes of 125 pounds and 135 pounds.
