WHS Student Competes in Poetry Out Loud State Championship

Isaac, a Williamston senior, competed at the Poetry Out Loud State Championship in Lansing. This is the fifth year that WHS students have participated in this nationwide event.

Isaac won the school competition in November, qualifying him for the state event. Isaac recited "A Farmer Remembers Lincoln" and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." The competition, sponsored by the Michigan Humanities Council, included a dinner and a poetry workshop for students.
