WCS Educator Wins Coding Competition

Williamston High School teacher Raymond Herek won the Earsketch "Teach to the Beat" coding contest.

Earsketch is a platform utilized in Williamston's award-winning AP Computer Science Principles course. Students create music through sampling and coding in the JavaScript language. Mr. Herek submitted an entry of his own into a competition for teachers and was selected as the Creativity in Code award winner.

AP Computer Science Principles students work with Earsketch toward the end of the course. This creative application of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics is another example of why WCS is a leader in STEAM education.
