ESports is competitive online gaming that includes both team-based and individual competitions. It requires skills in critical thinking, situational awareness, communication, problem-solving, analysis, and reflection. Students who compete in ESports build character, develop self-discipline, self-esteem, teamwork, and more. They become an essential part of a community of students who are passionate about similar things. The Williamston High School ESports program is one of 54 schools associated with the Michigan High School ESports League (MHSEL), an organization that is supported by the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) and the Michigan Association of Student Councils & Honors Societies (MASC/MAHS). MHSEL teams are managed and competitions are organized and run on a platform managed by PlayVS.
