Great Lakes Fishery Commission Presents to WMS Students
6th-grade science students had the opportunity to get up close and personal with an aquatic invader! Representatives from the Great Lakes Fishery Commission supported authentic instruction at Williamston Middle School through an engaging lesson about the Sea Lamprey.
Students learned about the sealamprey as an organism and why it is causing such havoc in our Great Lakes.
Preserved specimens were part of the presentation; however, the main attraction was the LIVE lamprey. This opportunity aligns with the current study of ecological relationships in 6th-grade science.
