Elementary Students Raise $44,300 for the American Heart Association
Students from Discovery Elementary and Explorer Elementary raised a record $44,300 for the American Heart Association. The fundraiser is part of the Kids Heart Challenge Event that takes place during Fit for Life classes.
Discovery and Explorer Elementary students jumped at the chance
to help fight heart disease and stroke during the 24th annual Kids
Heart Challenge event. The students collected over $44,300 in
donations for the American Heart Association. These funds help
support cardiovascular research and educational programs
throughout our community and state. The students had a fun time
and enjoyed some great exercise with their friends while
participating in this healthy service learning event.
Over the past 24 years, Discovery and Explorer Elementary
students have contributed nearly $600,000 to the American Heart
Association. In return for our efforts, the American Heart
Association has presented our schools with many awards and
honors as well as over $50,000 in Fit for Life equipment. The Kids
Heart Challenge is truly a win-win situation for all.
Mr. Jordan Williams and Mr. Heath Plaxton would like to thank all
the participants, parents, and community members for helping to
make this year’s event a huge success. We really appreciate the
continued support of everyone involved.
