The Williamston Middle School MathCounts team won the 2022 MathCounts Chapter Competition. The team qualified for and competed in the state finals at Saginaw Valley University.

At the MathCounts Chapter Competition, the WMS 8th-grade team took first place. In addition to the overall team victory, three students on the team placed in the top 5 individually:
Luke: 2nd overall
Raymond: 4th overall
Nick: 5th overall
