Model United Nations Team Participates in Great Lakes Invitational
The Williamston High School Model United Nations Team traveled to Kalamazoo to participate in the Great Lakes Invitational. The Williamston delegation represented the countries of the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Greece, and Japan. Students earned numerous individual and group awards.
Committees debated topics such as:
Autonomous Weapon Systems
Improvised Explosive Devices
Stability in the Central African Republic and Israel and Palestine
Cybercrime and peaceful protesting
Child marriage and women's economic empowerment
Access to water and sanitation
Fire prevention and response
Climate change and infectious diseases
Vaccine equity and access
The situation in Afghanistan and Tigray
Kayla, Emily, and Carly earned "Best Delegate" for their respective committees representing the United Kingdom. Kayla, Micaela, and Harrison won "Best Delegation" for their representation of the United Kingdom as a team.
