The Williamston Be Nice club and Williamston and Haslett volleyball teams hosted the inaugural Be Nice Volleyball Game. The event showcased efforts by the Be Nice club to promote a conversation about student mental health. The game also displayed student leadership and combined efforts by the Be Nice club and student-athletes regarding the importance of breaking the stigma of openly discussing mental health.
Williamston Community Schools has Be Nice clubs at the middle and high schools. The clubs promote student leadership and engagement on issues of mental health and suicide prevention. Clubs host special events throughout the year and team with faculty and other student organizations on developing classroom lessons about these topics.
