Explorer Students Participate in Aquatic Safety Lessons
Fourth-grade students at Explorer Elementary are participating in a series of aquatic safety lessons. The classes are part of the District's student safety goal (Board of Education Goal #4) and take place at the community pool. The classes are taught by certified lifeguards.
Aquatic safety is a long-standing WCS initiative that prepares students for responding to emergency situations in the water. Lessons include how to stay afloat, swimming basics, and responding to unexpected situations when in an aquatic environment. Every fourth-grade student has an opportunity to participate throughout the school year.
