    Baseball and Softball Teams Selected for Area Invitational Tournaments

    Both the Williamston High School baseball and softball teams have been selected for showcase tournaments of the region's best teams.   •  Becky Durling, National PAEMST Finalist

    Williamston Teacher Named PAEMST National Finalist

    Becky Durling, a Young Fives teacher at Discovery Elementary, has been selected as a national finalist for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Ms. Durling has been an instrumental part of Williamston's award-winning STEAM initiative. She was previously recognized as the Michigan Science Teachers Association Teacher of the Year.     WHS Quiz Bowl Team Places 13th Nationally

    Coach Kersten Inducted into Michigan Football Hall of Fame

    Williamston Head Football Coach Steve Kersten was selected to the Michigan Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Coach Kersten has coached the Hornets since 2001, compiling a 144 - 89 record. His accomplishments include 16 state playoff bids, including reaching the state finals in 2010.     All Williamston schools participating in the state assessment system earned overall index scores above 90. Williamston Middle School received the highest overall middle school index score in Ingham County and Williamston High School was the top-rated school for the fifth consecutive year.     Williamston High School Senior Martin was selected as the winner of the 2023 Congressional App Competition.
