Welcome to Curriculum and Assessment at Williamston Community Schools!
Our district is committed to the ongoing development and effective implementation of K-12 curriculum that is relevant, robust and prepares each student for the world of college and careers outside of our school walls. We continually develop and examine our instructional practices, which is essential to fulfilling this goal. Our teachers are involved in numerous professional development opportunities to provide the optimal learning experiences. All of our staff strive to understand and apply the latest research regarding effective instructional practices, including the use of technology, to enhance the learning process.
Our focus is to provide students with learning opportunities that support their development as independent, critical thinkers. We value student centered, and data informed instruction. Here at Williamston Community Schools, we believe in a team approach. The hard work of our excellent staff has shown to be successful as demonstrated through our student achievement scores. Assessments are formative which is the process of questioning, demonstrating and identifying how a student learns. Through passion, determination, and commitment we continue to move forward and offer the best educational opportunities possible.
We are proud of Williamston’s curriculum and assessment models. We encourage you to learn more about our programs at each of our schools. Our dedicated staff is here to assist you as you go through this educational experience with your child. Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions or would like to learn more about our specific educational curriculum. On behalf of all the instructional staff, it is a pleasure to be a partner in education with you and your children.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michele Cook
