Williamston Middle School Educator and Michigan Region 6 Teacher of the Year Cassandra Eberhardt presented to the State Board of Education. Her talk focused on the impact of mental health on student learning. Ms. Eberhardt highlighted the student support model at Williamston Middle School and how it has resulted in positive outcomes for both students and staff.
The Williamston High School First Robotics team advanced to the semifinals of the East Kentwood district event. The team overcame significant damage to their robot from the previous weekend's competition. Williamston Vespidae (Team 7818) was a finals alliance captain at the event, placing them as one of the final eight teams for the competition.
Five students from the Mu Alpha Theta math fraternity at Williamston High School participated in the 55th annual Math Field Day at U of M Flint. Math Field Day is a mathematics competition for high school students. Teams solve math problems and present findings on mathematical subjects.
According to data posted on MISchoolData, Williamston's graduation rate of 97% was the highest of any Lansing area district. Williamston's graduation rate increased by 3% from the previous year. The state graduation rate for the 2023-2024 school year was approximately 83%. Williamston High School also earned a Graduation Rate Index School of 100% on the Michigan Department of Education's School Index Scorecard.
Williamston High School presented the Disney Musical Freaky Friday. The production included five shows spanning two weekends.
Mrs. Tammy Hosford, a 6th-grade teacher, won Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6464 and Auxiliary Teacher of the Year for Sixth to Eighth Grades. She was recognized for her commitment to enriching students' educational experiences and fostering intergenerational relationships.
