Notice of Board Vacancy

The Williamston School District is seeking applications for the current vacant position on the Williamston Community Schools Board of Education.  An individual will be appointed to fill the vacant position until the November 4, 2014, election.

 

Interested persons must submit a letter expressing interest in the board position and their qualifications for the position to the district office no later than 3:00 o’clock p.m. on June 26, 2013.  Submissions may be either by U.S.P.S., hand delivery, or email to WCSBoard@gowcs.net addressed to:  Mrs. Marci Scott, President, Williamston Board of Education, 418 Highland Street, Williamston, MI 48895.

 

Eligibility Requirements:  To be eligible, a person must be a qualified school elector.  This means that the applicant must be a registered voter in the school district.  An applicant must be at least 18 years of age; a citizen of the U.S.; a resident of the State of Michigan for at least 30 days; and a resident of the school district.

 

Following review of the submitted materials, the board will schedule interviews with selected candidates.  Board interviews will be held at the Williamston Middle School Multi-Purpose Room either at the regular meeting on Monday, July 15, 2013, or at another designated special meeting in July.  All candidates for the board vacancy may not be interviewed.
